The Batavia Lady Devils picked up another victory Monday night as they knocked off Pittsford-Sutherland 71-51.
The big story heading into the game was Batavia’s Madison McCulley, who entered the game just 12 points shy of reaching 1,000 for her career. She was able to knock down three pointers on back to back possessions in the 4th quarter to eclipse the mark, becoming just the 2nd Lady Devil to reach 1,000 points – joining fellow senior Tiara Filbert who accomplished the feat last season.
To begin the game on Monday, Sutherland started out hot from downtown, knocking down some very deep threes, which gave the Knights an early lead. The momentum swung in the third quarter, however, when Batavia was able to go on a run and take the advantage – which they never looked back from, eventually winning easily by the 20-point margin.
For the game McCulley finished with 14 points, two more than she needed for 1,000, while Filbert completed a quality night of her own with 27, and Sam Cecere put in 16. For Pittsford-Sutherland Lena Kaufman led the Knights with 16 points.
