After leading for much of the game only to fall behind in the second half, Elba wouldn’t go away on Friday night, as they challenged the Notre Dame Girls Basketball team all the way until the final whistle – eventually losing the game 43-40.

Rebecca Krenzer had the big game for the Irish, scoring 16 points, including one fourth quarter three-pointer. Callie McCulley also had a fine game with 9 points for ND.

The story of the game aside from the result was Elba’s Alex Reigle, who was participating in her first game since returning from an ACL injury which has kept her out for the entirety of this season. In her return, Reigle dropped 19 points for the Lancers, including 5 three-pointers. Despite the loss, she will certainly provide this Elba group with an added punch down the stretch and into sectionals.
