The Oakfield Basketball team should be one of the top-programs in the GR League this season. Look for the Hornets to be in the running for a League Title at season’s end. Here is a brief preview of their upcoming slate:

Oakfield Hornets

Head Coach: Ryan Stehlar

Record Last Season: 14-8

Key Players

Ryan Douglas (Senior) – Ryan returns as the team’s second-leading scorer from a season ago, and hopes to lead the team in that department this year.

Tyler Ohlson (Senior) – Tyler does it all for Oakfield, and will be called upon to be the team’s rock on both ends of the floor this season.

Joe Burdick (Sophomore) – Joe is a growing talent who will serve as a quality compliment to both Douglas, and Ohlson this year.

Coach’s Outlook

“This team has a lot of experience playing together, and with a big portion of our team returning, as well as having a large amount of senior leadership, it will be important to continue to grow every night as a group.

Nothing is guaranteed or handed out in the GR League, so we must keep working hard for the goals that we want to accomplish.

This group has put in the time this offseason towards building team chemistry. They have taken the approach of relying on team basketball to play both offense and defense, and the goal, as always, is for this group to play hard every night to give us a chance to compete in a tough league.”

– Oakfield HC Ryan Stehlar
