Bringing with him over 40 years of coaching experience, Dick Diminuco has taken control of the Pembroke Football program with hopes of returning a strong sense of Dragon Pride to the school. Mitch Lewter, Cal Neurohr and Dakota Swimline will lead the Dragons on the field this season, as the squad hopes to compete for a GR League Title.

Following a disappointing 2-6 season during 2013, the Pembroke offense will look to propel the Dragons going forward.

Returning to the team after successful individual efforts a season ago, Cal Neurohr and Dakota Swimline will man the backfield once again for the Dragons. The duo, after splitting time in the back field throughout 2013, will provide their team with tremendous athletic ability in the running game. With a strong offensive line in front of them, Neurohr and Swimline have the chance to do some fantastic things this season.

Joining them in the backfield, fellow Senior Mitch Lewter takes over the quarterback position for the Dragons after the team lost former two-year starter Tyler Bruning to graduation this past spring. Lewter, a smart player, will be a nice compliment to Neurohr and Swimline, providing this Pembroke team with ability to throw the ball down field. Along with the Dragons’ impressive running backs, the Pembroke QB will also benefit from a strong offensive front when throwing the football.

Anchoring the Dragons’ strong O-line, Jack Thomas brings with him two years of varsity experience on both the defensive and offensive sides of the ball. With a young group up front, Thomas will be called upon to provide great leadership all season long.

Although they expect the league to be highly competitive as always, the Dragons are incredibly excited for the upcoming 2014 season. As a team with a brand new coach and plenty of brand new pieces, including the quarterback, Pembroke understands in order to succeed they will need to bring their “A” game week in and week out in order to compete and improve as a football team.

With the forecast showing great things on the horizon for a strong Dragons football team in 2014, make sure you don’t miss out on any of the action right here on Batavia’s Best!! Stay tuned!!
