The Trojans have won a bunch of games in a row as they explode into their quarterfinal match up this week with the Avon Braves. The Braves, on a four-game win streak themselves, will also be hot coming into this one.

Following a difficult start to their season, the Trojans found a way to put it all together in their final four games and are currently playing their best football just in time for the postseason. Adjusting to their opponents and their personnel with each passing week, I have really been impressed with the job that head coach Tim Sawyer and his staff have done as the team has progressed.

If Alexander gets through the Braves to the finals, the winner of Clyde-Savvannah and Letchworth will be waiting for them. Letchworth is coming off of a loss to Bishop Kearney in Week 7, while Clyde earned their top spot with a win over Lyons, and if the Trojans are able to get past Avon I truly believe they can win the Class DD crown.

Unfortunately for them, however, I believe the best two teams in the bracket (Avon and Alexander) will be playing in the first round on Saturday. Although Clyde has had a great year as well, the Braves are returning several players from injury in recent weeks and have forged an impressive push into the playoffs.

Stay tuned later this week, as we will provide you with everything you need to know about Alexander’s upcoming match up with Avon, scouting reports of the other teams the Trojans may face down the road, along with all of the other action around Section V Football!!
