Following a shutout loss to the Alexander Trojans this past Saturday, the Lancers have drawn the daunting task of overcoming the Bath Rams, who will go into the game with apparent issues of their own. The Rams lost a tough one to Batavia on Friday night and lost several key players to injury in the process. The fact that Bath will be at less than full strength will only help the Lancers effort, however.

If Elba is to win this weekend they will move on to face the winner of ER/Gananda – Attica, who play this Friday night on the Blue Devils’ home field. While I expect Attica to walk away the winner in that contest, it would be a lot of fun to watch these two teams square off for a chance to go to the finals.

Unfortunately for the Lancers, though, their offense has been stagnant as of late and will prevent them from advancing if they fail to improve this week. Scoring 0 points against a tough Alexander defense in Week 7, Elba will have a chance against a Bath defense that proved they can be had through the air last week versus Batavia.

If somehow the Lancers can find a way to put the pieces together offensively, and get past the Rams and Blue Devils after the first two rounds, Le Roy will be waiting for them in the finals. In one of the most difficult Class brackets outside of the A’s, Class C will provide great competition in the coming weeks.

Stay tuned later this week, as we will provide you with everything you need to know about Elba’s upcoming match up with Bath, scouting reports of the other teams the Lancers may face down the road, along with all of the other action around Section V Football!!
