Over the weekend local wrestlers took part in two outside-of-the-area tournaments, with a few picking up first place.
At the Pete Rao Memorial Wrestling Tournament at Lew Port HS, Alexander’s Dane Heberlein and Lyndonville’s Dustin Joy & Tom Follman all won their respective weight classes – while Heberlein walked away with the Most Outstanding Wrestler Award.
Also, at the Avoca Tournament, Le Roy’s Jon Lauricella won his weight class after a 5-0 day including 4 pins.
Taking part in the Ken Ton Tournament were Batavia and Byron-Bergen, as B-B’s Cameron Brumsted, and Batavia’s Noah Dobbertin each finished first at 106 and 195 lbs respectively.
