The Alexander Boys Basketball team has been in a bunch of close games this season, with little to show for it. However, last night vs Pembroke, the Trojans finished – and walked away with a big 54-49 win over the Dragons. Leading the way for the Trojans, who were ahead the entire game, was Matt Genaway who dropped 21 points including 5 three-pointers. For Pembroke in defeat, Kyle Ludwig scored 19 points including 3 three’s.

This is a shocking loss for Pembroke, who until this point, had done nothing to dispel the thought that they were one of the top-teams in the GR League. Now, having fallen to an up-and-down Alexander team, one must wonder where the Dragons belong in the league’s hierarchy.

Having said that, give credit where credit is due – to the Trojans. Who have continued to fight their way through a tough season.

Stay tuned for my next edition of the GR League Boys Basketball Power 5… coming Sunday Night after the Super Bowl.
