After a long week of action around HS Sports, here are our Batavia’s Best Athletes of the Week (1/4/2016 – 1/9/2016):

Madison McCulley (Batavia Girls Basketball)

Despite suffering what is thought to be a season-ending knee injury during the Devils’ first round game of this year’s Rotary Tournament, McCulley recorded the 1,000th point of her career in her team’s game vs Pittsford Sutherland earlier in the week. During the game she scored 14 points, but reaching such an incredible milestone is what has earned her Athlete of the Week honors.

Henry Pflaumer (Elba Boys Basketball)

This past week Henry also exceeded a significant milestone, as he surpassed the Lancers school record for most three-pointers in a single game with 11 vs Holley. During the game he scored 34 points, while also dropping 12 points vs Kendall, and 14 points vs Pembroke earlier in the week. For which, he has earned his spot in our Athletes of the Week.

Ryan Webster (Notre Dame Hockey)

Webster put forth two fine efforts for the Irish in their return to action this week, as he recorded 1 goal and 1 assist in their game early in the week vs Rush-Henrietta, and 2 goals in ND’s late-week loss to Geneseo. He is our last selection for Athlete of the Week honors.
