Two local golfers finished on top of the Section V Golf world yesterday at the Section V Golf Championships at Mendon Golf Club, as Kendall’s Evan Gaesser and Alexander’s Matt Genaway each finished as Champions in their respective classifications.
Gaesser took Class B, scoring a 71 after going 35/36 on the day, which was good enough for a tie for first overall amongst all classes – as Victor’s Christian Chapman and Mendon’s Gunnar Doyle each shot 71 as well. Just behind the leading trio was Genaway, as his 76 was good enough for 5th overall and 1st place in Class C.
Both will now move on to Super Sectionals later this week.
