Ahead by 8 points at the conclusion of the first half last night, the Notre Dame Girls Basketball team allowed Alexander to hang around late into the second half – where they would put together an 18-point final frame in order to send the game to overtime. Fortunately for the Irish, though, the Trojans gave them 11 free throws during the extra session in order to help ND secure their victory. In total on the night, Notre Dame shot 35 free throws, making 19 of them.

Highlighting the victory for ND was Callie McCulley, who dropped 18 points including a 9/13 clip from the charity stripe. In addition, Margaret Sutherland scored 14 points.

For Alexander, whose top offensive player Olivia George was on the bench for most of the game due to foul trouble, Bret Stephens stepped up and scored 14 points – but it wasn’t enough as the Trojans fell to the Irish by a final score of 56-53.

This marks just the second loss for the Trojans within the league.
