Here it is; the last PGA major championship of the season – The PGA Championship.  It is also your last chance to try and win a million dollars playing Daily Fantasy Golf this season.

Whistling Straights

The PGA Championship will take place at Whistling Straits along the coast of Lake Michigan in Kohler, Wisconsin. The course is a par 72 and will play between 7,500 and 7,800 yards.  Whistling Straights was designed by Pete Dye who is famous for creating visually intimidating holes and features over one thousand bunkers – including the famous one the Dustin Johnson infamously grounded his club in back in 2010.  The course also features several reachable par 4s which can favor bombers like Dustin Johnson, Jason Day, and Bubba Watson.

My high dollar value pick of the week is Jason Day.  Day has been one of the most consistent players this year and is the safest bet to be around the top of the leaderboard on Sunday.  The only wart to his game, driving accuracy, is more than made up for by his strong iron play from all yardages.  He also is in the top 5 in going for the greens on par 5 which should be helped along by larger greens.  From there all he needs to do is lag putt and tap in.  Queue the birdie dance.

To be honest, I am not in love with any of the mid-range golfers.  I feel that the ownership on Joaquin Phoenix, I mean Zach Johnson will be too high, Jim Furyk rivals Sergio for his ability to choke, and Hideki Matsuyama has been playing so poorly that he has frightened me off.

Brooks Koepka

My man Brooks Koepka; on the other hand; has the same ownership concerns of ZJ but costs $600 less.  If you use Brooks Koepka prepare yourself for an emotional rollercoaster ride because his scorecards feature all kinds of shapes.  You might find yourself with a birdie streak backed right up with a bogey streak – but that’s the fun of it. Buckle those seatbelts up and climb aboard the Brooks Koepka express.

My value play of the week is Morgan Hoffman.  My initial research on the course led me to a couple of key stats: par 5 birdie or better and 3 putt avoidance.  Guess who ranks highly in both categories.  That’s right, $6,300 Morgan Hoffman.  On top of the stats, which he clearly possesses, Morgan has also fared well on Pete Dye courses.  He finished with an -11 at Harbour Town and a -12 at the Zurich Classic.  This suggests that he has the abilities to succeed at Pete Dye designed courses.

I would also like to make a ridiculously bold prediction:  Rory Sabbatini (pictured below) will enter moving day ahead of Rory McIlroy.

With that I bid you adieu and good luck.  Don’t forget to use me as a reference (referall code: https://www.draftkings.com/r/AndrewFerris) if you are just beginning, we will both get free entries into the milly maker.
