SEASON REVIEW/OUTLOOK FOR NEXT SEASON
BOYS
Alexander
Final 2017-2018 Record: 14-7 overall, 10-5 league (Lost in Class C2 First Round)
Past Season Snapshot: Alexander endured a successful campaign which ended abruptly with a tough loss in the Class C2 Semifinals.
Key 2017-2018 Departures: Senior F Erik Scharlau – 10.6 ppg. 11.1 r
Most Impressive 2017-2018 Underclassmen: Junior F Ryan Davis – 13.8 ppg. 11.9 rpg; Junior G Chris McClinic – 12.4 ppg, 4.5 apg; Sophomore G Tyrone Woods – 7.2 ppg; Sophomore G Dylan Busch – 5.1 ppg
Next Season Outlook: Next season, with a few key components returning to the lineup, I expect the Trojans will once again be in the thick of the Genesee Region League Title race.
Attica
Final 2017-2018 Record: 5-15 overall, 4-10 league (Lost in first round of Class B)
Past Season Snapshot: The Blue Devils’ season was a disappointing one, which started out okay, only to finish with a bunch of bad losses to end the year.
Key 2017-2018 Departures: None.
Most Impressive 2017-2018 Underclassmen: Junior F Dawson Nelson – 10.5 ppg. 11 r; Sophomore G Frankie Bisceglie – 7.1 ppg, 4.7 rpg; Sophomore G Tyler Meyer – 6 ppg, 3.1 apg
Next Season Outlook: Next season, with their top-scorer and rebounder returning, I expect Attica to rebound with a season which Devils’ fans can be proud of.
Batavia
Final 2017-2018 Record: 14-7 overall, 5-3 league (Lost in Class A2 Quarterfinals)
Past Season Snapshot: Batavia’s tumultuous 2017-2018 season ended with an upset loss in the Class A2 Quarterfinals.
Key 2017-2018 Departures: Senior G Stephen Gilebarto – 12.1 ppg; Senior G Naz Pratt – 6 ppg, 6 apg; Senior G Tee Sean Ayala – 14.4 ppg
Most Impressive 2017-2018 Underclassmen: Junior G Antwan Odom – 16.2 ppg, 7.4 rpg; Junior G Mason McFollins – 13.7 ppg
Next Season Outlook: Although they will say goodbye to much of what propelled them the past few seasons, the Blue Devils should remain one of the better teams in their division, and classification.
Byron-Bergen
Final 2017-2018 Record: 7-14 overall, 4-9 league (Lost in Class C1 First Round)
Past Season Snapshot: The Bees lost a bunch a season ago, and paid the price for their losses this year. Although they competed in the majority of their contests, the ability to win big games eluded them throughout their 2017-2018 campaign.
Key 2017-2018 Departures: None.
Most Impressive 2017-2018 Underclassmen: Sophomore G Chad Green – 7.4 ppg, 4 rpg
Next Season Outlook: It’s tough to project what to expect from the Bees next year, as they will likely use an influx of talent from their jv squad to soften the blow of another year which they lose a bunch to graduation
Cal-Mum
Final 2017-2018 Record: 19-3 overall, 6-2 league (Lost in Class C2 Quarterfinals)
Past Season Snapshot: The Red Raiders successful 2017-2018 season came to a screeching halt with an upset loss in the Class C2 Quarterfinals

Next Season Outlook: Graduation will really hurt Cal-Mum, but they will return their leading-scorer to the team next year – along with a few other pieces.
Elba
Final 2017-2018 Record: 15-7 overall, 10-4 league (Lost in Class D2 Quarterfinals)
Past Season Snapshot: The Lancers were coming off of a Section V Title in 2016-2017 and followed that up with another respectable campaign this year.
Key 2017-2018 Departures: None.
Most Impressive 2017-2018 Underclassmen: Sophomore G Colton Dillon – 17 ppg, 9 rpg; Junior F Jon Boyce – 13 ppg, 10 rpg; Sophomore G Collin O’Halloran – 8 ppg, 6 apg
Next Season Outlook: Despite their success this year, they should be even better next season – as the Lancers return almost everybody.
Holley
Final 2017-2018 Record: 4-17 overall, 2-12 league (Lost in Class C1 First Round)
Past Season Snapshot: This past season Holley picked up their first wins in multiple years.
Key 2017-2018 Departures: Senior F Pat Bower – 18 ppg, 10.5 rpg; Senior G Andrew Moseman – 12 ppg, 5.5 apg
Most Impressive 2017-2018 Underclassmen: None.
Next Season Outlook: Next year, the Hawks might have to go back to the drawing board as they lose much of what drove them this season.
Le Roy
Final 2017-2018 Record: 17-5 overall, 6-3 league (Lost in Class C1 Quarterfinals)
Past Season Snapshot: The Knights suffered a disappointing loss in the Class C1 Quarterfinals to end the year, but overall their season was a success.
Key 2017-2018 Departures: Senior G Canyon Roster – 18.5 ppg; Senior G Cole Biggins – 4.3 apg
Most Impressive 2017-2018 Underclassmen: Junior F Reece Tresco – 10.5 ppg, 8.8 r
Next Season Outlook: Although they will lose a bit to graduation, Le Roy should be able to maintain the success which they’ve found over the past few seasons.
Lyndonville
Final 2017-2018 Record: 7-15 overall, 5-9 league (Lost in Class D1 Quarterfinals)
Past Season Snapshot: The Tigers were a young squad this season and suffered some growing pains.
Key 2017-2018 Departures: None.

Notre Dame
Final 2017-2018 Record: 17-5 overall, 14-1 league (Lost in Class D1 Quarterfinals)
Past Season Snapshot: The Irish suffered a convincing defeat at the hands of Naples in the Section V Class D1 Quarterfinals, but finished as the GR League Division II champ.

Oakfield
Final 2017-2018 Record: 14-7 overall, 10-5 league (Lost in Class C2 First Round)
Past Season Snapshot: The Hornets performed well this season before being upset in the Class C2 Quarterfinals.
Key 2017-2018 Departures: Senior G Ryan Douglas – 22 ppg; Senior G Tylor Ohlson – 17 pp; Senior G Tayvon Boyd – 10 ppg
Most Impressive 2017-2018 Underclassmen: Sophomore G Joe Burdick – 6 ppg
Next Season Outlook: Oakfield will be without their top-two scorers next season and will likely find it difficult to repeat their 2017-2018 success.
Pavilion
Final 2017-2018 Record: 6-15 overall, 2-8 league (Lost in Class D1 First Round)
Past Season Snapshot: The Gophers suffered a big loss midway through the year due to injury and after that they were a different team.
Key 2017-2018 Departures: None.
Most Impressive 2017-2018 Underclassmen: Junior G Zach Wiedrich – 14.1 ppg; Junior F Ryley Elliott – 10.9 ppg; Junior G Luke Milligan – 7.2 rpg

Pembroke
Final 2017-2018 Record: 23-1 overall, 15-0 league (Lost in Class C1 Finals)
Past Season Snapshot: Pembroke’s advancement to the Section V Title game this year, and their ability to compete with Class C1 #1 Northstar Christian in that game is what put them over the top – in my mind – as the top-team in the area this past season. Despite their loss in the sectional final game, they did win the GR League Division I Title, and overall GR League Title following an undefeated regular season.
Key 2017-2018 Departures: Senior F Reid Miano – 15.7 ppg, 8.4 rpg; Senior G Jamil Marable – 10.8 ppg, 5.3 apg; Senior G Lucas Kohorst – 10.8 ppg

Key 2017-2018 Departures: Senior F Adam Lund – 12.3 ppg

Most Impressive 2017-2018 Underclassmen: Junior G Macie Riggs – 8 ppg; Junior G Haley Alvord – 8 ppg
