After a long week of action around HS Sports, here are our Batavia’s Best Athletes of the Week (1/18/2016 – 1/23/2016):
Eddy Schildt (Lyndonville Boys Basketball)
Eddy had quite the week within the GR League last week. Scoring 30 points in the Tigers win over OA, then 26 in their victory over Byron-Bergen – he deserved Athlete of the Week honors.
John Hochmuth (Elba Boys Basketball)
John exploded during the Lancers’ four games last week – which also helped him in his chase for Athlete of the Week honors. With 26 vs Alexander, 19 vs Byron-Bergen, 18 vs Mount Morris, and 12 vs Attica, John certainly earned his selection.
Owen Thompson (Attica Boys Basketball)
Owen went off in two different games last week, as he scored 30 vs Dansville, and 18 vs Elba.
Tiara Filbert (Batavia Girls Basketball)
Tiara had an up-and-down week last week, but with 24, 12, 9, and 7 vs Aquinas on Friday – she forced her way into the conversation for Athletes of the Week.
