Dane is now a two-time state champ after winning at 120 lbs this season. Here is his profile:

Plans after High School: “Wrestle Division 1 on a scholarship.”
AB: Being a two-time state champ now does that drive you even more to keep achieving your goals, or are you satisfied now?
DH: No, I will never be satisfied until I win a Division 1 National Championship in college. But for now, it’s to win another state title my senior year.
AB: You previously said you wanted to receive a D-I scholarship to wrestle. Is that still your primary goal?
DH: Yes, receiving a Division 1 Scholarship has been the goal my entire life.
AB: With another year to prove yourself as a senior in 2017, will anything change for you knowing it is your last year?
DH: I will continue to train over the summer and work hard for the next 12 months until the state tournament rolls around once again.
AB: What did you first think the minute you won the state title this year?
DH: My first thought after winning states this year was that all the hard work I’ve done since I was 6, paid off.
AB: Finally, what is your favorite part about wrestling?
DH: My favorite part about wrestling would have to be all the lessons you learn everyday such as determination, accountability, and the strength you need to practice – despite the weight loss.

Dane is clearly one motivated individual. With college wrestling within his sights, expect one heck of a finish next season.
