Coming Up:

Next week we will have Geneva at Batavia (3-1), Alexander (2-2) at Oakfield (2-2), CG Finney at Notre Dame (2-2), Pembroke (0-4) at Holley (0-4), and Elba (3-1) at Attica (4-0).

Batavia will have Geneva this week, while Elba and Attica will square-off for the GR League lead and Pembroke and Holley face-off in the battle of the winless. With plenty of exciting action on tap throughout Friday night and Saturday afternoon, this week is certain to be an exciting one in Genesee County.

In my predictions, I am now 13-6 on the season.

Star of the Weekend:

Batavia’s Greg Mruczek finished Friday’s game short of the 200 yard mark in passing yards, but also finished with 4 touchdowns. Getting great work from his receivers on some nice routes, Mruczek was able to make sound throws all night long from inside and outside of the pocket. He also did a nice job running the ball, which he has been doing more of as the season progresses.

Worth Repeating:

“It was electric, It was a nice feeling to help my team win after a hard fought game.”

-John Hochmuth (Elba TE)

Keep an Eye On:

Attica’s Jake Strzelec. Strzelec missed the game this past weekend and will be a major question mark going forward for the Blue Devils.

Lagniappe:

Following their first touchdown of the day, the Batavia Blue Devils were given a gift on the ensuing kickoff as Adonis Davis was able to recover a short kick and get the ball back for his team. Davis did a nice job outrunning the front line of the Mustangs kick return unit and won a scramble for the ball during the first half.
