Tonight at Victor High School, the Le Roy Girls Volleyball team overcame Section III’s Lafayette High School in the NYSPHSAA Class C Far West Sub-Regional. With the win, the Knights now move on to face Portville of Section VI in the Far West Regional Friday night at Daemen College.

Portville recently defeated eight-time defending NYSPHSAA champion Eden in the Section VI Class C Final in order to set up the matchup with Le Roy. Sitting at 23-0, this will likely be the toughest game on the schedule for the Knights this season.

In their win over Lafayette, LR’s was led by a slew of performers as Ava Vescovi (4 aces, 10 kills, 4 assists, 1 block), Riley Pasquale (1 ace, 9 kills, 2 assists), Emily Leone (2 aces, 8 kills), Jaidyn Smith (3 aces, 1 kill,  1 block), and  Taylor Sherman (20 assists, 2 kills) all put forth strong efforts.

Stay tuned for further coverage of the Knights’ run.
