Three teams remain on the hunt for a NYSPHSAA Title. Here is a preview of what each team will face on Saturday:

Notre Dame Hockey vs Pelham – 4:30 pm – Sportorama – Monsey, NY

Pelham Memorial, a high school created in memoriam of those who fought in WWI, comes into this matchup as the #3 team in NYS and the #1 team in Division II. They are currently 17-5 on the season and have scored 103 goals to just 35 goals against this season. In their last two games, they have outscored opponents by a total of 15-0.

Pelham faced two Section V opponents this season – defeating both McQuaid and Greece Athena. They allowed just one goal in each of those games.

Wheatland-Chili Girls Basketball vs Panama – 5:00 pm – Rush-Henrietta HS – Henrietta, NY

Panama, a central school district in Panama, NY, enters this game sporting a 19-4 record – including four-straight wins by 20 or more points. Playing teams from all classifications, they haven’t lost since December 18th – which gives them a streak of 16-straight victories.

The Panthers have three players who have averaged in double-figures this season – with many more averaging near 10 points per contest. Those who have averaged 10+ ppg are G Emily Sperry (13), C/F Natalie Angeletti (11), and Taylor Bowen (11). Angeletti stands 5’10” tall and is the Panthers’ force inside.

Batavia Boys Basketball vs Williamsville South – 7:00 pm – Buff State – Buffalo, NY

Out of Section VI, Williamsville South will likely be the toughest team Batavia has had on their schedule this season. South is coming off of a win over Amherst in their previous game, and are currently 21-3.

South has played one Section V opponent this season, falling to Aquinas by 20 points during the middle portion of the season. They currently sit at +400 in point differential, allowing just a touch over 1,000 points in 24 games – working out to an average of about 50 points per contest. They have scored an average of 66 points per game.

Brothers Greg (sophomore) and Graham (senior) lead the Billies, as Greg is a quick guard who scores in transition and gets to the bucket at will, while Graham is the team’s best shooter and stands 6’5″ tall. In addition to the Dolan’s, 6’3″ senior big man Matt Foster (Division I football player) and guard Myles Hall (shooter) will also help pace WS.
