After careful deliberation, here are my top-5 teams in the GR League:

5.) Pembroke

Pembroke has taken a step back recently after a torrid start, and does have some work to do in order to regain their spot near the top of the Power 5.

4.) Notre Dame

Notre Dame really struggled for a few weeks, but with their big man Jack Sutherland back in the fold, they were able to defeat Oakfield at home last night. Look for this group to return to form and really begin to challenge teams down the stretch with their high powered offensive attack.

3.) Lyndonville

Lyndonville has been mowing through some tough competition lately – including Attica and Pembroke. There is no doubt they deserve a spot near the top of the Power 5. The Tigers can score with anybody and have proved such throughout the season.

2.) Attica

Attica recently fell to Lyndonville on the road, and I was tempted to put the Tigers ahead of them as a result – but I am holding out hope that the Blue Devils will return to form as one of the top teams in the league. They have the potential to beat any team on their schedule, I just believe they need to begin to realize that potential game in, and game out.

1.) Elba

Elba remains unblemished both within the league, and overall, and even with their game against Attica being cancelled last night, I still believe they have done enough to overtake the Blue Devils for the top spot in the league. The Lancers will play Oakfield tomorrow night.

TODAY’S POWER 5 WAS SPONSORED BY:

At National Scouting Report, area director Tom Sydeski and company help high school athletes achieve their dreams of playing in college.

Established in 1980, NSR receives dozens of daily requests from college coaches seeking prospects in all sports. NSR scouts in six countries – U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, Australia, New Zealand and Nicaragua – try to find those prospects, scout them, and qualify them for coaches. The service also helps qualified high school student-athletes connect with college coaches on all levels (NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and NJCAA) and earn scholarships, of which about 95 percent of those qualified student-athletes not only play in college, but also earn athletic and academic scholarships – changing their lives and saving their families tens of thousands of dollars.
