Batavia set to face Wayne Saturday night

Following the first round, A2 now moves to the quarterfinals where #1 Batavia will face-off with the #9 Wayne Eagles – who defeated #8 Geneva on Wednesday. Here is an extremely brief scouting report on the Eagles:
Wayne
2015 Wayne Eagles
– Not very athletic
– Well-sized down low (6’3″, 6’4″, 6’5″)
– Overall 6-14 this season
– 3 of Wayne’s 6 total wins have come against Geneva
– Shoot 60% from the free throw line
Although Wayne does have an outside chance of competing with the Blue Devils due to their size inside, I expect that Batavia will walk away a winner in this game on Saturday night (7:00 pm). However, up next for the Devils will likely be #4 College Prep – who will face off with #5 HFL Saturday night as well.
In the lower half of the bracket, #2 Newark and #7 UPrep will play for a chance to make it to the semifinals at Blue Cross Arena March 3rd, while #3 SOTA and #6 Monroe also fight it out in the final quarterfinal matchup.
All in all, I believe Batavia, College Prep, and UPrep to be the three best teams in this bracket. Although Newark, SOTA, HFL, and maybe even Monroe will also have the opportunity to work their way to the Finals, I truly see one of my top three hoisting the trophy at season’s end.
