In Class D1 tomorrow night, #2 Notre Dame will host #7 Lyndonville, while #8 Elba heads to #1 Genesee Valley hoping for an upset. Here is a brief scouting report for the Jaguars:

Genesee Valley

– Normal sized roster of 11 players

– Led by 6’6″ Carter Schneider (15 ppg) and 6’0″ Tyler Zlomek (19 ppg)

– Beat Hammondsport by 20 earlier this season. Elba played H-Port in the first round

– Relatively weak regular season schedule

– 18-1 coming into this game

Tonight will be incredibly tough for the Lancers. Although they do have decent size in John Hochmuth, they have relied on multiple JV call-ups down the stretch of the season and seem to be a year away from advancing to the later rounds of Sectionals. Elba should be proud of the way they have come on strong down the stretch, however, as they seemingly have turned their fortunes around heading into 2015/2016.

Notre Dame handled Lyndonville during the regular season and I expect more of the same tomorrow night.

Elsewhere in Class D1, these games will also take place tomorrow night:

#5 Jasper-Troupsbourg @ #4 HAC

#11 Avoca @ #3 Mount Morris
