Coming Up:
Next week we will have Wayland-Cohocton at Batavia (4-1), Pembroke (0-5) at Alexander (3-2), Holley (1-4) at Oakfield (2-3), Cardinal O’Hara at Elba (3-2), and Attica (5-0) at Notre Dame (3-2).
The Attica Blue Devils have run roughshod over their entire GR League schedule thus far during 2014. While Alexander, Elba, and Notre Dame, who they face this week, sit just two games off the pace, time is running out for those in the trailing position and the Blue Devils have shown no signs of slowing down. Outside of the GR League, Batavia is off to one of their best starts in recent memory, and will be heavily favored this week against an inferior Way-Co team who lost last week 29-0 to Dansville.

Following the first week under .500 in my predictions, I am now 15-9 on the season.
Star of the Weekend:
Attica’s Jake Strzelec was a beast this past Friday night versus Elba. Totaling over 200 yards on the ground to go with an incredible 5 touchdowns, Strzelec provided the Blue Devils more than enough to win against an Elba team who has struggled to score so far this year. Injured the past few weeks, the Attica running back came back in a big way in Week 5.
Worth Repeating:
“Definitely a big win for the team. Everything seemed to come together during the game. Our offensive line was getting a great push on almost every play and our defense also stepped up as usual, shutting down the run from the first play of the game to the last. It seems like we are peaking at the right time.”
-Tristan Aldinger (Alexander RB)
Keep an Eye On:
Alexander’s Jake Wozniak received plenty of carries down the stretch of the Trojans’ game versus Oakfield and also came up with a huge interception during the contest as well. Keep an eye on Jake Wozniak going forward.
Lagniappe:
Following their first score of the game, the Holley Hawks got the ball right back on the ensuing kickoff following a shanked kick off the foot of the Holley kicker. Despite the miss-kick, it worked out for the home team.
