Here are the three leftover Profiles from Basketball and Hockey:

#11 Tania Arellano – Guard – Kendall Girls Basketball

Height: 5’5″
Class: Senior

Favorite thing about high school sports: “My favorite thing about high school sports is making memories with those who share the same passion and love for the game as I do. A lot of the things I have learned through playing sports in high school have allowed me to be successful, and a lot of these things I will be able to use throughout my life. “

Most memorable moments of high school sports career: “Some of my most memorable moments of my high school sports career include, winning sectionals for soccer this past season, being a co-captain this year for basketball, and having 25 points in my game against Holley on 2/13/15 which included 5 three pointers, a lay-up, and going 8 for 10 from the free-throw line.”

Future plans after high school: “My future plans are going to college at either St. John Fisher or Roberts Wesleyan and majoring in either Business or Accounting. I would also like to play college basketball, and maybe compete in track and field for triple jump.”

AB: Who is your biggest hero, in terms of sports?

TA: Growing up I didn’t really have a sports hero. My heroes are my parents, teachers, and coaches for always encouraging me to try my best in everything I do.

AB: Is there anything that makes you nervous while playing sports?

TA: While on the court many things can make me nervous especially when I am having an off night. This year especially I have learned many ways to play around a box and one, and anything else that is thrown my way. The thought of possibly letting my team down has to be what makes me the most nervous on the basketball court.

AB: Outside of those you already play, what other sport do you wish you would have played?

TA: I wish I could have played volleyball. It is a sport that I enjoy during gym class sometimes because it is during the same season as soccer, and I am not able to play both at the same time.

AB: Off the court, what do you enjoy doing to pass the time?

TA: Some things I enjoy doing off the court are watching college basketball games with friends, enjoying the outdoors, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends.

AB: If you were to select your most impressive accomplishment as an athlete, what would it be?

TA: My most notable athletic accomplishment is being awarded scholar athlete of the week earlier this season for Time Warner Cable Rochester News, and leading my team in points and rebounds.

AB: What do you enjoy most about being out on the ice?

BP: Being a leader and someone my teammates can look up to.

AB: Who has been there for you most throughout your time as a hockey player?

BP: My parents. They have put a lot of time into it and I am very thankful.

AB: How does Hockey’s overall physical nature contribute to your appreciation for the sport?

BP: I appreciate hockey because of its speed and the excitement that can be built up during the game.

AB: What has been your most memorable moment on the ice?

BP: When I scored a hat trick in the Ice Devils’ 800th game as a program.

AB: Where do you see hockey taking you in the future?

AB: What do you enjoy most about being out on the ice?

JC: It just gives me a rush to be able to completely ruin a shooters day by being the reason a shot might be the game winning goal or just another shot.

AB: Who has been there for you most throughout your time as a hockey player?

JC: My father saw my potential early on and pushed me to be the best that I could from a young age. That gave me the motivation to work hard so I could be better.

AB: How does Hockey’s overall physical nature contribute to your appreciation for the sport?

JC: Hockey’s physical nature obviously makes the sport much more exciting but it doesn’t really affect my playing style as a goalie. Sometimes a player will run into me but that’s about all the action I get.

AB: What has been your most memorable moment on the ice?

JC: My most memorable accomplishment on the ice is definitely my first win against Notre Dame last year.

AB: Where do you see hockey taking you in the future?

JC: I will definitely play hockey after high school whether it is on an actual college varsity hockey team or not doesn’t really make that much of a difference to me, obviously to play college hockey would be nice but as long as I’m still playing I will be happy.
